Yahoo!Xtra Open Shortcuts
Follow one of the examples below to create an Open Shortcut.
Navigate to a Site
Let’s say you want to create a shortcut to an Internet forum such as ScubaBoard:
1. Think of an easy-to-remember name for the shortcut. For example, sb
2. Copy the URL for ScubaBoard - http://www.scubaboard.com/forums.php
3. Enter the name and URL in the form below and hit the Set button
Search a Site
Let’s say you want to create a shortcut to search stock quotes on Yahoo! Finance:
1. Think of an easy-to-remember name for the shortcut. For example, yf
2. Go to Yahoo! Finance and perform a search for a stock. For example, enter yhoo
3. Copy the URL - http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=yhoo
4. In the URL, replace your search term with the special placeholder, %s.
5. Enter the name and updated URL in the form below and hit the Set button
Once you’ve created an Open Shortcut, you can use it from any Yahoo!Xtra Search box. Just remember to sign-in and type ! (exclamation point) before the name of your shortcut.
